Ward's Natural Science Establishment Rochester, N.Y. Feb 2 1882. burned.

The shells from Mrs. Lambert came s few days ago -

in good condition - freight $17. We have not yet had time to examine the alcoholic specimens.

Sea Otter skeletons from N.H. Woodcock of Ft. Wrangel

Alaska has also arrived in good shape. W. received $16. for it. Clements' charges and freight ^to Rochester^ amounted to $10.

As no money comes in L. F. W. will not give the amount

for Gerrard, but keeps saying it will have to wait a few days. The keeping up a constant solicitation for this money is getting to be tedious, and considering the promises made to Gerrard, the delay is outrageous. I wish you were here to straighten out such matters which certainly need it.

Charles seems to be in comparatively good health

and is beginning to "spree it" occasionally. The Dr. told him there was now no danger <.u to himself > from disease. He is still at work on his Garfield and is finishing up some 25 casts. 19 of which are ordered, he says. I cer- tainly hope this is so, and that he will soon be able to pay for his labor and the material which he has used. He tried recently at another place for an overcoat, but could get it only on condition that he furnish security.
