before deciding what to do about Scott. I have requested him to write you about it
We expected the Bulletin to come out
very soon after the copy was given in, as we had ^prepared ^ more than enough to fill the paper before any was handed in. And the Bulletin would have come out at the expected time had it not been delayed by the printer. Such being the case we did not see that any good would be done by sending the proof sheets to you. Ere this you have received a lot of the Bulletins, and 10 more go with the circulars today to Hong Kong.
You say Mr. Hornaday has not written
you "a single line" since you left. This I do not understand, as I have notified him of sailing of each Frisco steamer in time for him to write, and have requested him to do so. I certainly understood that he had done so.
The cat. of School Series of Skeletons
was issued at Mr. Howell's instance, </s with > and Mr. Lucas prepared it. Mr. H. thought it ought to accompany the Cincinnati exhibit and Mr. L. and myself fully agreed with him. Mr. Lucas will write about it also.
In a letter received before you left,
Mr. Hume said that he was about to send a case of birds and you directed me (I have it noted down) to pay him for them.
