350 Limulus, which we are procuring for her as fast as possible: have 100 already. She first ordered 100 from 40 to 50 centime. in length and soon after wrote for 250 more Told her ^(June 22)^ we could furnish 100 at 6 [fes.] and that if she would take the other 250 from 30 to 60 cgm. we could give them to her for 1100 [fes.]; that the size which she men- tined would exclude nearly all the males, as they range from 30 to 40 cgm. The Limulus cost, delivered here, from 15 to 19 cts each and it requirres about 10 to 15 [c] of work to prepare them, thus leaving a sufficient mar- gin for profit. Mme Vimont also ordered $20. of ^other^ invertebrates ( corals & c) which have already been sent to her. She writes that if satisfied with this lot, she will send a larger order. I did as well by her as we could afford to, but no better than we could on the larger order. Dr. Keene of Phila. wrote sometime ago. about the ^Homo.^ skeleton which you were to obtain for him. Mr. Lucas gave Framond a forcible description of what was wanted - how good the skeleton must be, & c. Framond wrote that he had just what was wanted and he has been requested to send it to Moller.
The Hatteria will be sent to Gerrard in
a day or two, and at the same time we will send him a draft for a say $20. as he is about to send another lot of birds.
