Jun. 24, 1881 Mr. Clements wrote that the missing New Zealand box reached San Francisco by the last steamer and that he will forward it as soon as possible. We were very glad to hear that it was safe.
Mr. Lucas has selected $50. of material
from the Barrow's lot. After deducting freight
there will be $40. due him, for which I shall
get a draft tomorrow.
The Bulletin is just out and we are
sending it off as fast as Andrews can furnish
it: send you several copies by this mail.
We have tried to do our best on it, and al-
though it is far from perfect, yet we
hope it may be satisfactory to you. Just
what the cost will be we do not yet know.
L. F. W. examined a ^copy^ and seemed to like
it fairly well.
Prof. O. C. Marsh has paid his bill. Scott
has paid nothing, and, I fear, will need a little pushing. His seeming indifference to the matter is not altogether pleasing. He wrote that he could not decide upon the Elephant till he had seen you, so it has been sent to San Francisco. Prof. Hooper (Adelphi Acad., Brooklyn) failed to meet his note for $510. & int. due June 1. Wrote him a week ^& 1/2^ ago in regard to it, but have received no reply. Shall consult L. F. W. again about it & see what he thinks best to do.
Shall send Cornings Apteryx egg tomorrow
