get them. Schneider writes ^(May 15)^ that </s>that</s> he will ship us a lot of skins in a few days. Gerrard also says that he can send us another lot on approval; wrote him, May 30, to find whether Gregory had sent off his box and if not, to have him add to it the box of skins. If Gregory had already shipped, then Gerrard was to send list ^only^ ( Gregory, as you doubtless know, is to purchase and ship to W. & H. two casts of Assyrian figures in British Museum. These are for Chautauqua.)
We wrote Bierstadt offering fine & Mr. Goat
for $150., but he thinks the price rather high and concludes to wait till fall; he however wants a pair. We have written him again, offering the pair for $250. telling him that he can now have the pick of several skins - and we hope he may take them. We have just received bill of lading for other three bales which are shipped from Benton, M.T. to Bismarck, D.T. at the rate of $3.- per 100 lbs.
Mr. Garman writes "With the things already

The New Zealand box has not yet come.
