due ($50) he will pay at once.

Have written Prof. Hooper (Adelphi Acad.) twice, but have received no answer, which seems strange, as neither letter has been returned. Mr. Howell intends to see him, when in New York. Souverbie has paid - $17.- His bill, as first made out, was $43.-, but two of the skeletons, Geomys and Gulo, - were found to be too poor to send. We have written to several parties in the western states for Geomys, but although it must be plenty there, yet it seems to be hard to obtain. Charles Jamrach offered Ostrich eggs 3/-,- ordered 10. Eckert sends bill for 14 Ostrich Eggs at 6 M.,- says that only 10 were ordered, but as they are nice and cheap he sends 4 more. Told him to send only 10; that for all over that number, we would give but 3 M. as we had just ordered a lot at that rate.

Enclosed is March summary, statement of Bills due etc. M. C. Z. bill has not yet gone, but Mr. Lucas says it will not vary much from $625. "Henry Clay"
