Gerrard wrote Feb. 18. that he would send box of bird skins in few days; have not yet heard from it and shall soon send him a line making inquiry about it. Frank has settled his account correctly. Gerrard sends statement of account, which agrees exactly with ours, - £82-11-6, which will be increased to a little over £100. by the bird skins which he will send.
Reg offered some time ago a skin of Bos grunniens and was told to send it provided it was a good one. It ought to be here by the time that Martens finishes the Rhinoceros. - he is jsut now working on a Capyabara, but will very soon commence on Rhinoceros. Mr. Lucas offered Prof. J. A. Allen $200 worth (stuffed) of birds which we had on hand, not in M. C. Z. list, and he has accepted the offer. These will keep Webster and William at work till Gerrards birds come. Wood is sticking hair on male Chimpanzee; when
