Sir: I have the honor to offer you, for the museum of your institution, the collection of skins of mammals and birds which you will find enumerated in the accompanying list. I offer this entire collection, consisting of 102 mammals and 130 birds, as a free gift, provided the institution will agree 1st To have all the skins mounted within three years of date of acceptance at the establishment of Prof. H. A. Ward of Rochester, N.Y.--the only place in this country, in fact, where the work could be done either to your satisfaction or to mine.
