Prof. Ward has to wait for some of his money. I am anxious to see the collection on its feet and in your Hall. If you will let me know what you already have in invertebrates, fishes and reptiles, I will see what I can do for you further. I have just acquired some very nice, painted plaster casts of fishes, which I intend to send you about the time Prof. Ward makes you his first shipment.
Yours very truly,
W. T. Hornaday.
The cash value of this collection is $3100, counting in the two specimens I am yet to procure and its value mounted will be $6,860. If anything is said about it by the press, I trust you will inform me. H. (Copy)
