there, then letters were written several times to the heirs here, but the said Jacob Allen was also dead & no one but his widow then & she was sick & could get no one to attend to it. This said Van Allen was a very extensive weaver & wove fine Holland Linen & got his moneys this way. Then it was advertised in the papers in this country several times for the heirs to come & claim their money & it is not more than 6 or 8 years since the last Advertisement was published, the interest of the money has gone to support the poor but the principle is still there I suppose & it will cost some considerable reas- asing of the records but it is there unless it has gone to the government & we have no reason to think it has but if so find out if it cannot be obtained from the govern- nment again & if there is any such thing as gathering ^it^ you shall be handsomely rewarded & more than handsomely rewarded As it will cost something to make the necessary search for it you had better perhaps find out in the first place whether money left in the Bank that </s length > length of time would be likely to go to government or not if it would & we can't get it back then there is no use
