  This we understand to refer to the

annoyance he might be made to suffer growing out of his unfortunate position in relation to your Mother - & which might involve his friends in primary liabilities to an extant which he could not think of - or consent to - to purchase any gratification for himself -

  This led to  an application to

her through her attorney for permission to him to come home under a stipulation from her that he should not be arrested or in any way annoyed by legal process - This permission was - after some deliberation granted - for a limited period - & this was probably what she referred to in her ketter to you - Before this
