[page 2] will advance $ 500 instead of the $250 your letter seems to call for of save one . The doubtful snrance I will change to "hope that the returns from all sources would come to quite that amount if not more," in order to save you the trouble of writing it all. There surely can be no harm i such a "hope".

I find my friend in an unpleasant frame of mind I feel sure that hook or by crook he will help us out. But of course we must prepare for the worst while we hope for the best. If I am successful I will stay a day or two longer to look at halls and see what I can do.
