Studer has written to Lucas in
high dudgeon enclosing copies of
his ^late^ correspondence with you. I am
glad you have pricked the gas-bag
at last. Let us all stand by and
witness the collapse. He blames you
roundly for the new deal, which gives
me a first class excuse to write
him now, vindicate you, free my
mind,and give him to understand
that the now is must be between
he and I, (with the Society to back
me,) and not with you. I will
send you a copy of my letter.
