a financial Success I w. say the prospects were never better for a prosperous year than the present season We have had already about 10 inches of rain about double the quantity up to date of preceding years Aaaan abundant Harvest is almost assumed. The importance of which you will appreciate from the fact that our Exports of wheat to England will mount to over twenty Million Dollars the Coming year. Not only is the advantage of rain felt in Agriculture but Every interest of the Country is bene filled thereby in dry seasons Hydraulic Mining is almost at a Standstill There is one great drawback to yr Enterprize however at present. This whole City is prostrated by a frightful Shrinkage in Mining Stocks For weeks past Values have been vanishing away and
