Telegraph you --- Sailing Vessels are always from ? to 10 days in Port before they begin to discharge Cargo. In that time you could make the journey from Rochester to this City & be here to personally Superintend the discharge of your freight & no time wo be lost. At this Season of the year Freight is frequently Six weeks and two Months Coming by Rail --- Sometimes it is block'd up on the road by Snow & lakes three months to arrive here --- By the Panama route it is not much better ---- If you got your Freight Ship'd Say by the Twentieth of January you could make your Calculations to start Early in May, & give yourself no further Concern about the matter for the next three months of course you would Insure them
