B./L. ---- Box of Oregon Specimens forward this day ---- I had a light strong box made - look out the specimens from old heavy Box which came from Oregon, & repack'd them, on reexamination I find these Specimens ( so far as I have any Knowledge of Such Matters) much more valuable than I at first Supposed. The R. R. w not receive them unless the freight was paid in advance -- The Expenses on this the lot is 7.25 as per Enclosed Memorandum --- Now in regard to the situation here So far as your adventure is Concerned I will say that I have thought anxiously over the matter for some weeks past that April or May w. will be the very best time for you to Come, and to Save Expense better Ship your Goods round the Horn in a fast Sailing Clipper Ship Such vessels make the passage in one Hundred to one Hundred and Twenty days -- the Stuff
