   My Dear Sir,
      I was very sorry to find some of our Profs. bitterly opposed to parting with our useless meteorites on any terms. If you had offered them their weight in gold, pound for pound, they would not have exchanged. I am ever so glad that you procured a supply from J. L. Smith on terms so much more favorable.
    We will let the old "dornicks" lie in this case undisturbed from this time on and carefully avoid disturbing them by even so much as a suggestion to put them to some use.
    We will look for our Monotremes and Tragulus with a good deal of interest. I have decided to send you the large Orthoceras and take the chances of netting another some time. We will make you up a pretty good box. Do you
