The game law is out Aug. 1st. After that perhaps I coud secure one for you.

The Mountain Goat - or what you may call them

are very scarce - only found in a few places that I have ever heard of - There are a few in the Bitter Root Mountains to the south & west of here about 20 miles They range very high up among the rough rocks and cliffs where it is almost in access able to man. They will go where a dog cannot follow. In the winter the snow drive them down near the openings of the Canyons to the Valley. They do not seem to be a shy animal but after killing one it is extremely difficult to get them out. I have on two occasions killed a goat and could could not possibly get to the animal. Now I will represent that I do not know how you want^a specimen^ prepared to send to you and ask for </u full > instructions - </u How to skin > and </u how to prepare the bones > for shipment - also what kind you prefer - a large or small one - male or female - In encountering a lot - say 4 or 5 -a person is sometimes able to pick out the animal he wants and kill it. And the balance get away - also state what you will make me a </u standing offer > for to be open until New Year Day of 1881 - also whether you pay expressage. Write me and give </u full particulars > and if I can combind profit with pleasure will be pleased to do so. Any question you may see fit to ask about this country or its animals will cheerfully answer

Hoping to hear from you soon I remain

Very truly yours Henry Buck [another hand- Will hold Mr Evans offer open till Nov, 1 80 Sent directions for Skinning & e. As to standing offer, would have to re- for that to Prof.]
