Dear Prof. Ward.,-

    Your letter of June 12th was recd.

this morning Mr. Howell & Henry started for Chautauqua & Cincinnati this A.M. and their letters will be forwarded to the former place. They go to Chautauqua and set up there the winged Lion & Bull, and leaving there Monday go on to Cincinnati. Mr Poppert goes to Cin. Sunday. One car load of casts including Mrg. and Irons, will reach Cin. Monday and another car of Casts and Zoology will start this A.M. We send altogether about 2 1/2 car loads. Mr Poppert & Henry remain at Cin. to mount Meg. while Mr. Howell goes to Louisville to take down Mammoth. Mr. Lucas will give list of vertebrate Zoology sent. Of Invertebrates we have sent about $350. worth, including one Pentacrinus and diagrams. In making out the collection for Cin. I have followed the same plan as for Louisville, selecting mostly species with which we are well supplied. and specimens of medium quality, but at the same time adding some of the rarer species in order to make out a rather
