Dear Prof. Ward

Your letters from New Zealand reached here today and we have just written to New York to inquire about shipping to New Zealand.

Enclosed is statement for April. It does not include your expenses, as L. F. W. thinks it best to enter none of those till your return. All is going along smoothly. Last M. C. Z. shipment amounted to $665.- and was entirely satisfactory. The Smithsonian specimens were sent and the bill ($212.) has been paid. They have since sent two seal skins and one skeleton to be mounted - skins are good. Mr. Hornaday is mounting one and William the other, and have nearly finished them. Batavia Inst. (State) for the Blind took $250. worth of Anat. Models and invertebrates and will pay by middle of next month. Prof. A. J. Cook (Lamsing Mich.) sends Llama skeleton to be mounted (at $40.) and takes $280. of skeletons besides. All except Horse have been sent, and it with Llama will follow in a week or 10 days.

We offered Scott the Elephant at $300. difference: he wrote that he would want to see before deciding. Wrote him again that it would go to San Francisco but have not received answer.

The Mt. Goats have come - all the skulls
