will label the corals and prepare pedestals while cases are being made. Mr. P takes hold very well indeed on shells.
Charles is still working at taxidermy; is taking dancing lessons. Henry's school work keeps him very busy.
Mrs. Ward has gone down town otherwise she would have an enclosure. I neglected to tell her this morning that we should send a letter today. She has returned from Ga. Saturday evening. Mr. Hornaday is devoting all his spare time to the Bulletin, while the rest of us have done almost nothing. Mr. Jackson (Consul at Antigua) is stopping at Mr. Hornaday's and is to be married in a few days to a lady in Holly (Orleans Co. N. Y.) Mr. G. K. Gilbert took dimmer here on the 5th.
Walrus has not yet been unpacked, as Mr. Lucas thought it would be as well to leave the cask unopened. The Mt. Sheep head which Bierstadt has just ordered, we promised to have ready for shipping on the 20th so that we shall have to hurry it, but we intend it shall be ready by that time. No farther news that I can recollect. With best wishes for your success, I remain,
Respectfully yours
Arthur B. Baker.
