Dear Prof. Ward,

Your letter of Feb. 19 mailed at Honolulu is just at hand. We sent you a long letter yesterday to Melbourne.

I have sent catalogue according to your directions and will write Dr. Lathrop etc.

San Francisco packages are on the way from New York - fr't to N. Y. - 50 ft. @ $1.25 = $62.50 - paid. Gerrard's box rec'd and unpacked, skins in the main good. Walrus cask not yet opened. J. A. Kanouse of Fort Benton writes that he sent on the box and bale of Mt. Goats as soon as possible after receipt of your letter - paid freight to Dillon (terminus of R. R.) - 225 lbs at 16 ¢ = $36.- sent him draft for amount. The winter has been very severe so that freight could be sent no earlier. Dr. Boyd offered skulls of African Elephant, Hippopotamus old and young, the 3 for $40.- Told him they were not needed and we did not care to do anything about them till your return.
