Stephen's Sons acknowledging receipt of your draft and saying that your note for £43-s falls due on the 19th Feb. L. F. W. was here this morning and said he would obtain a draft for the amount at once.

Enclosed is summary for Jan'y which was not ready till the 18th (M. C. Z. bill did not finished) and so was too late to be sent to you. M. C. Z. shipment was $765. Gaur Ox will probably not be ready to go in this month's shipment; will not be dry. Chimpanzee will hardly be ready to go. Will write you more definitely about it by the San F. steamer

Work is progressing well. Elephant skeleton is finished and ready for pedestal and looks very fine. Hornaday has nearly finished his Mt. Sheep, and Martens has just completed Gaur Ox. DEK is mounting Moas. Will send you a full account of work etc by San F. steamer and presume it will reach you nearly if not quite as soon as this.

Respectfully yours,

Arthur B. Baker
