6th. The sum paid by Prof. Parker for freight
on the collection from New York, for its insurance, and for any and all expenses for storage and protection until such time as it is entirely paid for shall be considered as a rental paid to Mr ward for the use of the collection and not as any lien on the collection.
7th. Until the full sum of $3000 with
interest as above provided has been paid to Mr Ward the title and ownership of the entire collection shall remain in his (Ward's) name.
8th. Should Prof. Parker fail at any time to
fulfill and keep up his part of this agreement
Mr Ward may may enter upon and remove the entire
collection, Prof. Parker forfeiting any sums which
he had paid upon it, to the amount of one
thousand dollars, any excess paid beyond that
sum to be returned to Prof Parker or the ^Iowa^ College, un-
less referees chosen in the usual way shall de-
cide that Prof Ward's loss and expenses exceeds that
sum, and their decision of what is due to him in such
excess shall be final.
9th Beyond this forfeiture of the collection Prof
Parker will not be liable to Mr Ward for any debt or damages of any kind resulting from his failure to make full payment of this sum of $3000. and interest as provided
The words beginning "to the amount of one thousand
Dollars" to end of paragraph 8th, are added by Prof. Parker

Note. of the $3000. above mentioned the sum of $437. 25/100 has been paid to Mr Ward at this date (Aug 6. 1883) The sum of $2,562. 75/100 still dur to him.
