as fast as possible; and it is understood that all except some few rare species- extra difficult to obtain-shall be delivered within the space of three years following the signing of this contract.

Mr. Colgate agrees to pay Mr. Ward for the above mentioned specimens the sum of Seven Thousand, Three hundred and Twenty Dollars in consecutive payments as follows: -

As soon as Mr. Ward delivers any shipment of the specimens at the Museum, it will be examined and if accepted and the bill marked "correct" by Prof: Bickmore or Dr. Holder, Mr. Colgate will pay the amount of the bill to Mr. Ward. Said bill will be made by Mr. Ward by putting against each specimen delivered the price noted for it in "list C"

Finally, it is understood and agree to by both parties that in the event that future study or investigation shall reveal new species now known and described, that have been overlooked in this "List C" Mr. Ward shall furnish said species, setting off against them - as substitutes - any forms included in this List C, which may prove to be mistaken or unreal species. The purpose of this contract being to secure to the Museum a specimen of every species of Monkey known at the present time, and to avoid purchasing duplicates.
