the subject of the volumes we have sent you to Mr Brooks, you think it might be expedient for me to visit Rochester, I think I could manage to do it, incidentally, as I have always a good excuse in connection with fish hatching operations at the N. York establishment near Rochester, for visiting the place. Of course I would prefer not to go if it can be avoided; but if you think it might be any help let me know. I expect to attend the meeting of the National Academy of Philadelphia week after next, & can go on after that is through; say toward the end of the week.
