    Bristol is to deliver an oration before

the Phoenix association tomorrow afternoon and is to be examined for admission to the Freshman class on Saturday. About twenty are to enter the Freshman class from the Grammar school I tell you what it is that University of ours is going to be something great one of the brightest gems that deck the literary world.

    You would not know our house (that is,

if you should meet it in the street) it has been so changed. Father hapened to get into an improving mood this spring he has raised the kitchen roof four feet and made quite a respectable room where those three round windows or port holes were, then he has had the outside plastered just like the main buildng he has put a verandah all round it and has had a fence put on the stone wall on Troup street and has had the gas put into the house. he intends to have a verandah in front. The family are all well at present though Mother has been confined to her room for six or seven weeks this spring. Poor Pomfrey jerks as much as ever. Next Monday is the 4th (or rather 5th) of July and I expect your old pistol will make a little noise but I must stop and go and get some strawberries for supper Your humble servant Sam
