Your opportunity of study and travel have been such you have great care of gratitude to him & of thankfully to the Being that inclined him to anoint you. - Were I able to do it, it would afford me much pleasure to afford you the means of continuing your studies in Paris or London, but I could not in justice to my own family do it. My means are limited, my family expenses are large and as my children grow up are increasing - and the calls outside of my family that I feel bound to meet are greater than formerly. - I hope Charles will persuade his Father to allow him to remain & arrange for you remaining also. - but if he does not I think you will have gained the most important advantage you had in view when you went abroad -
From a remark which I have met occasionally
in your letters I am led to caution you relation to too intense study. It us very easy to over talk yourself and suffer for it through life. Constant vigorous outdoor exercise & frequent relaxation from study are indispesible for health. - I have no time for other matters - You have doubtless heard that a few weeks time we buried our dear little Feldon (3 years old) A sweet child.
