  My dear friend
             The matter of giving you

a commission to purchase & collect in the interest of our projected Museum at Cleveland, should you visit Eu- rope & perhaps Asia the coming year, has been revolving in my mind ever since I parted with you the other day. So desirable an opportunity, in my judgement, should not be lost if it can be avoided; and still I fear that the friends interested with me would be able to do but little this year. I cannot tell until I may be able to see them.
