skin & skeleton of Mt. Rat (same animal) these will be included in the shipment.
I have been terribly tempted to start with
you in Sept. & regretfully, am compeled to give up the idea. I shall have to labor on there, in the old way, until I am financialy in a better fix. I did not see, how I could be of any assistance to you, & did not expect that the refrense could be lessened in that way. am grateful for the kind invitation, which it is not possible to accept.
Mr Ward. - Rea's Attorney expects to be able
to do something for Rea this fall. - can you not write a strong letter in his behalf. - & mail it direct to B.F. Potts, Helena, - before you leave - also get McPherson to do the same: Potts is our Governor. - & he will have to pardon him. if Rea is helped. advise me if you do this. & send me copies if you can. I have seen none of the Fossil Wood. you refer to, but can look it up if you wish. -
truly Yours P. V. Jackson
