But I shall have to be patient for a while as our funds are so inadequate to the magnitude of our work - I have a fine class of 57 in Zoology (Juniors) and one of 54 (Seniors) in Mineralogy and Geology, but am pinched at every turn for more ample illustrations. Still we have a cabinet of which we are not a- shamed - collected mostly by my uncle and predecessor, Geo. N. Allen. An ef- fort is making among the friends of the late Pres. Finney in Rochester to secure endowment funds for the Theological Seminary here, but as sem- inary and colleges are both supplied from one pocket, I am somewhat hopeful of getting also a fund for in- creasing our cabinet.
