    I must also mention that for the first twelve

months I should not like to spend more than 150 pounds for North American freshwater fish.

    If you have collectors at the places, I would

advise to commence working the Lakes, Nebraska, and </s the Mississippi > Arkansas. We shall then see after a short time, on what footing our operations can be continued & extended. According to my experience collecting of fish in Central America paid at 3 sh. a piece, & in East Africa at 4 sh.

    You must impress your collectors to be parti-
