[page 2] This seems to be different handwriting taken the past season I have also been able to collect in Vermont somewhat this fall &  ? much better for you than if I had sent the materials in hand one or two years since. I shall get nothing of the College for the labor involved in this shipment to you. You may have noticed that our late treasurer defaulted to the tune of $30,000 We shall have to lose some of it, as his estate is not worth so much You may be interested to know that Pres. Smith claims the credit of securing the subscriptions to the casts recently pur- chased of you -

I could furnish such map. if we had any ? to trade hereafter I am about shipping a lot of footmarks to New Zealand & should like to send with them a few casts. Could you send me packed for N.
