upon the subject. If they assent to the terms of the gift, Mr. _ will agree to place in their hands the funds and securities needed for the prosecution of the whole enterprise He is desirous - if there be no especial reason for delay; - that the building shall be commenced at once; and has charged me to confer with your board, or such party or parties as they may indicate, as to the general outline of the construction, and such of its detail as refers to the classification and display of the material which I am to furnish. He further desires me to draw up for you full plans and specifications of the cases and fixtures; for supplying which I have rather exceptional facilities and a large experience in many of our Universities are Scientific Institutions. I am also now engaged in preparing a Catalogue of the contents of the Cabinet them- selves which I shall submit to your boards when they are ready to receive them. Finally Mr. _ desires to still have his name suppressed for a time longer, and to have the gift mentioned, where it must be mentioned at all, as coming from "a gentleman in New York State." Of course in the transfer of funds, a few weeks hence, his name will be made known to you. Awaiting the pleasure of your letter, which shall tell me </u when > the new Board of Visitors will probably act upon this matter, I remain, Sir. Your's very respectfully, Henry A. Ward. L. [ybg]
