not only give an impulse to the study
of Natural history in our university which
must keep pace with the march of knowledge ?
& where ? promote the cause of "high education"in
other respects for which that institution is already
distinguished. I wish my dear Sir I knew
to whom through you to ^return^ intend my thanks for
this well directed liberality. His name I
? will yet be known and ? as it will
then do the ? thanks of every Virgin
-ian who loves her state and the institution
which will foster the men who are to keep its
reputation bright and clean
Yours most truly
