  Mt Father S. M. Seymour, now the

chief Engr. of the Ohio Central Railway has just offered me a subordinate position on the road with him, but if I could secure a place with you where with just enough salary to defray my </u actual > expenses, I would much prefer taking it, than going with him, as I prefer to study Taxidermy as a </u proffession > to Engin- eering

    If you are willing to take

me for a year or so I will end- eavor to please you, and you will find me a cheap man. for I only wish enough salary to pay actual expenses, and as I have had </u some > experiance will be better than a </u raw > hand.
