Dear Prof.

Your letter from Auckland of March 23, has just come to hand, And we now hurry a letter off to you so as to catch the steamer of May 7. from San Francisco, There is little news to add to what I have already written, but it perhaps advisable to report some things that have been sent provisor, Brin- disi. We are preparing things to ship to San Francisco and will try and ship one lot by canal in May.- Have one Academy series of casts already packed, and have quite a lot of fossils blocked up and labeled, - DeKempenger is mounting some Human skeletons to go, and we are getting a general good ready to rush things into boxes when shipping times approaches. There are a number of casts to get ready - we have succeeded with a plain mould of [Niorsouros] and got out 8 good casts. Poppert is away most of the time now, and Chorley is just now pointing costs, and he does very nicely turning out sourion bones on the slabs. I sent him out that as he took up too much of Mr. Lucas time stuffing birds. They do not want us at Nashville and I hear nothing further from Cincinnatti yet - Have just dropped Prof. Clarke a line asking him when he is coming on to Rochester. Had a line from Mr. Douglass yesterday saying he was back in N.Y. and was ready to look at good things - will send
