note for $570, per Dec. 1., 1880 for six months with interest. ([??]) Sow Chandle who paid me $100. for meteorite, and Dr. Newderry mounted some fossils sent him, which I will do in a day or two, went on to Princeton and saw Lilley a week ago this morning. He said if I had been a day later could have fixed everything, - that he sent for the money the day before. He said he would send on drop for help the amount in two or three days, but it had not come yet. He said he had expected to bear from us and had been busy etc. or would have attended to it before. He was surprised at the [sold?] amount we think back, and objected to the large percentage take off from costs for damage, but finally accepted it, and said he was much pleased with the cabinet and it looked much better than when he saw it in Rochester. Yesterday I completed sale I [ringed?] Fein + Ball - we put if the two at [Choulouquay?] in July, and send also Rosetta [??] and Egyptian [Jeis?] and the two other [Asgria frigun?] for $25. I have written Prest. Allen, telling him that if he ever wants them now is the time, we will give them [brad?] for $300. By the way I wonder if it would't be a good plan to send them to San Francisco? I talked of that question with Frank hard and decided to go ahead. I couldn't see Lee without going down again, and I [?ted] Frank I could't spend so much time but would go right ahead, so there is no other way but you want [??] the things we send you.
