Dear Prof.

I came home Saturday night - having

been from home a week. I put up the birds
at C. P. Museum and they seemed much

pleased with them and wished the Irish Elk had been attended to at the same time. It is in a very bad condition, but I offered to do everything without any expense to them the some or with the [?] for $200. If they decide to have it done will probably hear from them soon, Dr. Holder will I think send a lot of 25 or 50 birds to be mounted. I told him we would do them at Bells prices, which are cheaper than the price we gave him. He thinks with a lot like that he can convince the trustees that it is better to pay our prices than Bell's considering the difference in work. I saw Bickman but a few moments when I just got there. He then ran up to Albany (as I learned afterward) and did not come back while I was there. I was a little mad that he did not say more about what he was doing in our matter and think I will write him so on soon and get a moment's time from other less important things. I went over to Brooklyn and saw Prof. Harper, He told a long story about a little unpleasantness in the school which made it unpleasant for him to speak to Mr. Pratt, and he did not want to [raise?] money on a mortgage if it could be avoided.
