and also because I was chiefly instrumental in getting him to Princeton. He and Dr Manigault have been at me for months, and I kept telling them nothing could be done about it until you got back.
I think I will write to Dr
Manigault tomorrow, and ask him if he will give Tennent work at taxidermy at living wages in the Charleston museum </u in case > you will allow Tennent to come here and stay a year or six months. It will do no harm, and might help Tennent.
You will see by the enclosed
letter that Tennent </u must > get out of Princeton very soon,- as soon as I can get a reply to this in fact. So </u please do not delay answering this >. If you decide to have the young man come I will do </u all > I possibly can to help him along. We seem to have </u plenty > of work in Taxidermy now, so much in fact that Bailly & Dekunpeneer have left their bones and gone to stuffing kangaroos.
