these two pieces there are not enough specimens ready to make a shipment worth while. The Gaur Ox looks well, but Martens was extremely slow in mounting it. However it was so large and of such peculiar shape that it taxed his skill considerably to make it look well. Nearly all the hair came off the Chimpanzee; otherwise it has come out well and Mr. Wood will soon make it appear much better. Mr. Hornaday has nearly finished his Smithsonian Mt. Sheep and it comes out rather better than he had anticipated, making a fair appearance. Martens has just begun his Mt. Sheep, having required a few days' rest to recover from the effects of the Gaur Ox.

Mr. Webster has just made a very poor Bustard skin into a good specimen for M. C. Z. Has also mounted a fine Vulture beside a lot of small birds. DeKempeneers is at work on Moas. Gueret is
