that Mr.Aga Prof. Ward offered
& rather urged upon us a skeleton
of a Gorilla some two years
ago now, on </s>that</s> account of
its fine character, & that Mr.
Agassiz decidedly declined pur-
chasing - He has since told
me that he had ordered a
stuffed Gorilla (order given
about a year since). This may
have led to the confusion -
