ybg Cambridge, Aug.13, 1881. Dear Mr. Lucas -

     The two boxes

of specimens arrived the even- ing of the </s 13th > 11th & I unpacked the birds yesterday, but -shall not - open the other box for several days, being about to take a short vacation.

    I found the birds in good order,

averaging, I think rather better than usual, though I noticed one or two I may have to discard. I found all the birds the invoice called for, and three small ones besides, the names of which I have not with me. I also noticed hat, in checking off on the printed list, there were 6 species previously
