       In regard to the

last shipments of birds, ? the arrived of which I advised you a few days since, I now write a little more fully.

       Some of the small ones are not

quite satisfactory, but realizing how hard it is to get some of them I let them pass. I reject, therefore only the Graculus sinensis, which is quite too bad - a skin it was folly to attempt to mount, the bird when killed having been in the an advanced stage of moulting -
