    The boxes came

yesterday, & I have unpacked them today. Everything came safely. The five birds sent for inspection ? probably shall not care to have. - Will </s let > reserve my decision till I see Mr. Lucas. I have approved the bill & left it for Mr. A.

  I hardly know what to say about

the Sea Lion. The exchange, as I under- stand the case, will cost the M. C. Z. $30.00 besides the trouble of getting our specimen down from its lofty perch & out of the building, which is no light undertaking. If you can send me a photo of this specimen you have, it will greatly suit me in forming a decision, which
