Dear Prof. Ward,
I see that M.C.Z. wants </u Reirhoodon humbles >
skin and </u Reithrodon > skeleton. I send both by this mail, to- gather with a few other things to make "even change". Buying rabbits, rats, & e. from the boys hereabouts has made me temporarily a little "short", so I send on a few things now.
We had today our first snow storm. It was pre-
ceded by a couple of bleak days, previous to which there had been a week of perfect weather. I am nearly as sensitive as a barometer to weather changes, and apparently the only safe way for me will be to leave this region. I find that fare ^(Emigrant)^ from here to San Antonio is about $30.-, which is lower than I had ex- peted. Should you have occasion to write Capt. Richarz will you please mention that I would be glad to come there. If it is not convenient for him to receive me, I presume he would know of some place where I could stop. I would like to spend a part of the time at least on some ranch where game could be had.
