D. 1850 Having concluded that it was for my benefit to keep a journal not only as a practice in writing and expressing my thoughts daily but also to have a book to refer to in future to ascertain where I was or what I was engaged in at any time in my past like. I do now the first day of January resolve to commence a journal and to write in it each and every day for the ensuing year.
