In behalf of the Museum I must ask, to have the contract filled by July 1, 1887, or as nearly so as possible, and that the agreement cease to exist after that date, which con- siderably extends the time mentioned in the contract.     In regard to the Mammals,

I should be glad to have you send me a list of the species you feel sure of being able to furnish during the next six months. The Bird list
