ybg Calcutta Thurs Mar 6 th 1872 Prof Henry A Ward Rochester N Y Dear Sir
Your letter of Nov 14th
1872 containing same to Dr. Anderson of the Indian Museum was rec'd by me on arrival here and was acknowledged through one I sent to Fred; I called at the Museum and delivered your letter personally to Dr Anderson, and had quite an interview with him; he will write you soon but I do not think he will send any specimens direct at present, if at all, he tells me that he has several duplicates of various sorts which he will exchange but he prefers to make them through Dr [Shuster]( I think that is the [?]) of the London Zoological Gardens.. That is his specimens will be sent there, and yours also when agreed upon he prefers that some be sold also said he did not like the money offer at all; I told him then why you made it; I think he would have sent you some thing now but his duplicates. are all packed away in Boxes awaiting the completion of the new Museum
