</u Hopole leucopus > and </u Midas deviller (= </u Hopole
devillei > on list) are both on the list of specimens now in the Museum, but were put there instead of on the list of desiderata because I had seen & accepted them. They are to be mounted & sent as a part of the order.
</u Lemur calta > was accepted was because it was a
much better specimen than the one now here,, which is not satisfactory & does not fairly represent the species in respect to coloration.
</u Propithecus damons >> is one of the numerous
color variations of </u P. verreauxi. > of which we al- ready have several specimens widely different in color. I ordered this specimen </s buca > because desirable to fill up our series.
In short, although the species mentioned do
not appear in the list of desiderata, they are speci- mens it is very desirable to have in our collection, & the order for them continues in force. Yours very truly J. A. Allen
